The Data Insights Lead, provides technical leadership and people management in the Analytics team to support the delivery of scalable and reliable data solutions to the National Injury Insurance Agency, Queensland (NIISQ Agency), Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) and Nominal Defendant (ND) (collectively referred to as the Motor Accident Insurance Schemes Queensland or MAIS-Q).
In this role, you will:
- Undertake data processing, analysis and create visualisations to inform timely and insightful decision-making by managers and executives.
- Provide agile project management leadership to successfully deliver outcomes, including collaboration with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Contribute to data architecture development to improve data warehousing and storage solutions to support efficient and consistent data analysis.
- Lead and influence the continued development of data analytics capabilities across the Analytics team.
- Collaborate across business areas to increase knowledge and awareness of data analytics opportunities and use cases.
- Assist and support the establishment and delivery of the organisation's data strategy and work plan.
- knowledge of statutory insurances schemes, personal injuries insurance and/or the general insurance sector.
- a strong track record of delivering timely and meaningful data analysis and insights to a range of audiences in different settings.
- experience leading teams and projects using agile methodology.
- experience using statistical programming languages such as Python, SQL, R, SAS and Spark.
- understanding of data analysis, warehousing applications, modern data platforms, cloud and storage solutions.
- ability to be innovative and identify creative solutions to complex issues in challenging and ambiguous environments.
- a proven track record in driving a culture of collaboration and participation.
