Full Time Permanent Position
Band 5 - Salary Range $76,355 to $87,925 per annum + 11% Super + RDO
Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Melton City Council for an energetic and self-motivated person to assume the role of Debt Collection Officer at one of the fastest growing and exciting regions in Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all rate accounts in arrears are followed up with a reminder notice in accordance with the current policies and practices also not limited simply by standards, procedures.
- Initiate legal action when required in accordance with the current policies and practices and liaise with Council’s debt collectors in the recovery process, with regular reporting.
- Process Financial Hardship Applications in a timely manner and to recommend appropriate actions and write-offs for Manager Finance’s approval of such action.
- Pay invoices from service providers, not limited simply by standards and procedures.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in administration or a related field with little or no relevant work experience or a lesser formal qualification with relevant debt recovery experience.
- Experience using document management system.
- Demonstrated experience in following up on accounts in arrears and initiating legal actions when necessary.
- Experience in contributing to the development of revenue procedures and managing time effectively to achieve objectives.
