Barilla wants to recruit the next Demand Planner based in Sydney. The individual will report to the Customer Service, Planning & Logistics Manager Australia & New Zealand.
Job Purpose
To ensure governance of the Demand forecast process, across short and medium term, in close co-operation with the sales team, finance and marketing, to support Supply Chain Planning and Business planning processes following the demand planning corporate process.
To manage local S&OP process, coordinating local and central business teams and proactively suggesting solutions to overcome planning/replenishment issues, and lastly coordinating with Key Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities
1. To ensure that the sales forecast process by the Market Unit is managed according to a scope, detail and frequency which is consistent with the Global processes of Supply Chain planning and Business planning, for analysis and validation, within the timeframe and the guidelines of the corporate Demand Planning processes
2. Understand together with the Sales and Marketing teams the criteria and the solidity of the commercial plans (how promotions / launch of new products / launch of advertising campaigns impacts the volumes) and liaise with Finance team to understand the financial impact on the business.
3. To ensure that the forecast planning systems are updated by promptly updating data in Demand Planning systems
4. To ensure constant monitoring of the forecast accuracy through the collection and validation of performance indicators, both at aggregated level and at category / product level, by preparing the appropriate reports for the Business and by identifying, with the Central Demand Planning Professional, the main critical areas, and opportunities for improvement.
5. Manage local S&OP, getting from Central Demand Planning team any relevant information regarding product and stock issues, coordinating different business functions (local and central) in the decision-making process in relation to potential stock issues.
6. Lead the Customers Collaboration meetings.
Requirement
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
• Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
• Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
• Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
