Demi Chef
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for highly skilled and talented junior chef to join our innovative kitchen team. In your role you will report directly to the section Head Chef where you will primarily be assisting and supporting our Banquet Operation in menu production and preparation. When required the role will also support our De Baun & Co Pub. You will ensure that the quality of food you prepare and serve is of the highest standard along with assist in maintaining food cost of sales in line with budget.
Duties and Responsibilities (but are not limited to the following):
- Passion for refined cooking
- At least 2 years' experience as a qualified chef
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Possess common sense and a mature attitude
- Possess all relevant industry certifications
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to support the team effectively
- Maintain high and consistent levels of food production
- Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel
- Assist senior brigade members with menu preparation and ensuring adequate supplies are available for expected service
- Maintain excellent presentation standards and cost control whilst working in designated kitchens.
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage. Have stock control procedures implemented and maintained
- Is able to manage and maintain effective working relationships with all hotel team members
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy & ensuring all equipment is maintained, serviced and cleaned to OHS standards
To be considered for this exciting position, you must possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar roll
- Trade qualifications
- Excellent technical knowledge with experience in all cooking techniques and style.
- Certified National Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A - Food Handler Training
