The Role
The Deputy Director Coalition Delivery is responsible for engagement, program coordination, reporting and technical delivery of projects, service improvement and service capability sustainment targeted towards Defence Coalition Interoperability.
Under broad oversight from the Director Defence Strategic Communication Sustainment and Coalition Interoperability, the successful candidate will be responsible for widespread leadership of a number of Project Managers/Coordinators and their delivery teams, and take ownership to deliver and report on capability requirements in support of Defence and our Coalition partner goals.
The position capitalises on and develops specialist knowledge and experience to support extensive stakeholder engagement (ADF users, internal support teams and other nations), to assist with planning, resourcing, execution and reporting of Coalition Interoperability delivery & uplift needs.
About our Team
Within the Joint Capabilities Group (JCG), the Defence Strategic Communication Branch (DSCB) – Strategic Communication Sustainment & Coalition Interoperability (SCSCI) is a large and complex team tasked with providing efficient oversight, uplift and delivery of critical services serving the wider Australian Defence Force and our Coalition partners.
This role will form an important part of the capability uplift and delivery component of the Directorate and the Branch. The position harnesses specialist knowledge and experience to deliver server driven outcomes in support of secure communication and information sharing initiatives within Defence, and between AUS Defence and our allied/coalition partners.
Our Ideal Candidate
This is a widely focused project oversight and service delivery role in a fast-changing environment, delivering critical systems, networks and gateways in support of the Defence Coalition Delivery area of responsibility.
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated recent experience with oversight and leadership of project, service improvement and service delivery of critical capabilities, plus some understanding of security, networking, gateway and server environments.
Demonstrated ability, or capacity to build skills to successfully lead and engage Military, APS and Contract staff while delivering across a secure, complex and multi-national environment will be a key component to be successful in this role.
Regular responsibilities of this role will include:
- Leadership of Project Managers and Technical Delivery staff;
- Delivery, oversight and ongoing reporting of critical Coalition service capability;
- Program level oversight over a number of Projects and Service Improvement initiatives;
- Planning and forecasting of project demand, resource and funding requirements;
- Accurate reporting and forecasting of project activity to the executive and board level;
- Initiating and executing procurement activities in support our initiative outcomes.
