This is an exciting opportunity for an experiencedDeputy Director of Nursing (DDON) who is the Senior Clinical Specialist and will ensure that Clinical standards are achieved to the highest quality complying with the Australian Aged Care Quality Standards. The DDON will assist the Director of Nursing with the overall operations and clinical governance of our Mater Christi residential aged care facility, including the management of staff. This includes the planning, organising, directing and development of all services particularly focusing on the Clinical and Care team to ensure the service meets all accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.
The requirements for this role are outlined in the position description & include:
- Provide leadership for the Clinical and Care team of Mater Christi by serving as a role model of the mission and values of SCC and giving clear directions on goals and clinical performance
- Provide leadership to the multidisciplinary teams to ensure clinical and care standards are maintained and needs of consumers are consistently met
- Provide input to staff rostering and allocation decisions to ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix is maintained
- Ensure the delivery of clinical care from the team is in accordance to consumer choice and in line with their care plans and legislative requirements
- Monitor clinical indicators and ensure identified gaps are actioned and closed
- Participate in bench marking audit processes, including identifying areas for improvement and closing out actions resulting from audits
- Ensure Aged Care Accreditation standards and requirements are fully monitored and supported and Identify opportunities for process or service improvement
- Weekend and after hours on-call for clinical support
What We Need from You:
- Minimum five years post-graduate experience in health or aged care management role
- BHSc Nursing (Registered Nurse, List A) with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registration
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Clear and effective customer service and communication skills
- A demonstrated high level of computer skills
- Previous experience as Director or Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Unit Manager or equivalent health sector operational leadership role will be highly regarded.
