Design Engineer

Exciting opportunity for an Engineer experienced in the design of civil infrastructure to join a leading Council in Sydney's North

Collar Group has partnered with a leading Council in Sydney's North that is looking for an Engineer, experienced in the design of civil infrastructure, to join their team.
Your primary purpose is to to design capital projects listed in the One Year Operational Plan and Four Year Delivery Plan as well as those projects which are created throughout the operational year.
Salary will range from $92,096 – $119,725 + 3.5 % civil liability allowance + superannuation - dependent on your skills, experience and qualifications.
You will be:

• Preparing designs and supporting documentation throughout each phase of design development to a high standard and agreed timeframes
• Develop designs so they address environmental needs, maintenance requirements and aesthetics.
• Undertake safety in design documentation including risk assessments for each design
• Undertake stormwater drainage analysis using programs e.g. DRAINS

Key Requirements

• Australia Citizen or Resident with full unlimited work rights
• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience in preparation of design documentation and cost estimates for multi-disciplinary projects including roads, stormwater, footpath, traffic facilities, cycleways, and other civil assets.
• High level professional and technical design skills including problem-solving, project costing and budgeting skills.
• Sound written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise with technical and non-technical staff/stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent computer skills and proven experience in AutoCAD, Civil 3D/12D and Drains.
• Excellent knowledge of legislation, regulations, design standards, and code of practice relating to the design, construction, and management of civil based project.
