About the Role:
Based in Melbourne and covering VIC, Tasmania, NSW, and ACT, this dynamic position involves both site and office-based work. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating all design aspects of insurance projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and regulatory compliance at every stage. Some (limited) travel within the region, including to regional and rural Victoria, will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all design activities for insurance/commercial projects from tendering to construction completion.
- Ensure design strategies align with project goals, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Coordinate internal resources and external consultants to provide necessary expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Serve as the primary contact for all pre-construction design activities, maintaining effective communication with Building Owners, Body Corporates, Building Managers, Insurers, Insurance Brokers, Loss Adjustors, and Quantity Surveyors.
- Engage in all project stages, ensuring design deliverables meet project timelines and objectives.
- Provide leadership during the construction phase to ensure the faithful execution of approved designs.
- Implement and uphold quality control measures to ensure high standards in design deliverables and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing design processes for construction projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in insurance project design, especially in VIC.
- Comprehensive on-site experience with construction methods and detailing.
- Based in Melbourne, willing to travel within VIC, Tasmania, NSW, and ACT.
- Flexible with juggling multiple competing project tasks as priorities change and you will be responsible for up to 6 projects at any one time.
