About the Position
The Development Engineer assesses and provides sound engineering advice on planning, subdivision, and development applications in relation to their impact and integration with Council’s civil infrastructure. In addition, advising on project proposals, within Council or from third parties, to ensure assets are designed and approved to Council standards that enhance community infrastructure. Open to applications from graduate engineers looking to broaden their experience across a wide range of engineering processes and projects.

About You
The Development Engineer is a proactive and engaging person who can work autonomously and as part of a team. You have exceptional technical and interpersonal ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
What you bring
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent skill and experience in local government and planning/civil works
- Demonstrated experience in review and assessment of infrastructure development proposals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret plans, standards and contracts for projects
- Sound knowledge of and ability to interpret and comply with relevant legislation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill
- Current driver’s licence and a willingness to maintain currency
