Qualifications & experience
- At least 5 years’ of experience in a similar development role within the utility scale renewable energy industry, specifically managing large-scale solar projects from conception through to approvals.
- A degree in engineering, environment, project management, planning or a related field.
- Development experience in utility scale solar or wind is essential, ideally in Australia.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Experience managing and developing project teams.
- Proven ability to identify and manage risks associated with projects.
- Ability to manage project timeline and budgets.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
- Ability to work well under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to travel interstate.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Identify potential development sites and take ownership of feasibility analysis and due diligence studies and with that identify network, land and environmental constraints and resource characteristics.
- Initiate new projects and progress the development of EDF’s Renewables development portfolio through a structured project plan.
- Lead the project development of several projects in parallel, including lead the site selection and land option negotiations, preliminary design and DA process.
- Develop and implement project plans and manage project lifecycle from predevelopment phases through to approvals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and standards both State and National levels. Coordinate development approvals and EPBC.
- Oversee land tenure for the projects.
- Implement and manage quality management systems across projects, ensuring that project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
- Responsible in providing regular progress reports against project plans, reporting to project stakeholders and management.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal project teams, external stakeholders, and local communities and proactively communicate project objectives, risks, and opportunities.
- Identify and manage project risks, ensuring that appropriate risk management strategies are in place to mitigate risks and manage issues as they arise.
