The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Dietitian Assistant to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Assist and support the dietitians in providing quality patient care in line with evidence based, best practice
- Implement and monitor the nutritional care of patients requiring nutrition support / receiving special diets / mid meals
- Provide education, on pre-determined nutrition areas, to patients, staff or other key stakeholders
- Liaise with food services staff and dietitians regarding the provision of special / therapeutic diets
- Regularly communicate with the dietitians and relevant clinical staff to discuss the nutritional care of patients
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Certificate III Nutrition, Certificate IV (Allied Health Assistance) or education in the area of nutrition would be well regarded for this position
- Experience working within a hospital Nutrition and Food Service department highly desirable
- Blue Card
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent part time (15.2 hours per fortnight)
- Base salary ranging from $33.52 - $35.24 per hour
