About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic Dietitian to work in a Grade 2 capacity at Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) in a full time fixed term capacity until mid-August 2024. This position will be based at both the Casey & Clayton sites of MCH. You will be supported by a large, progressive and dynamic department and this position is a fantastic opportunity for a new or experienced Grade 2 Dietitian. As a part of the Dietetics team you will:
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary colleagues across the service to foster clinical excellence and consistency of practice.
- You will provide comprehensive nutritional assessment and management of infants and children at Casey Hospital (Special Care Nursery & Paediatric ward), Monash Children’s Hospital and Monash Children’s at Home patients. Working in the Monash Children’s at Home service includes both outpatient, telehealth & home visits for Dietetic consultations.
This position is well supported by a large team and supervised by a Senior Paediatric Dietitian. The position offers training, professional development, the opportunity to cover a range of clinical areas and undertake quality activities and projects.
About Us
Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation, Oncology, Diabetes and Eating Disorders. Dietetics at Monash Children’s provides services to paediatric inpatients, outpatients and Monash Children’s @Home patients across Monash Children’s and Casey Hospitals.
Monash Children’s at Home provides specialised nursing and allied health support and home visits for families caring for infants and children (newborn-18yr) with complex medical care needs. Visits can occur in home, kindergartens, schools, specialist schools & other settings. The team facilitates extensive liaison with hospital staff & community based support services. Monash Children’s at Home removes the need for families to either stay in hospital for care or attend hospital daily to receive care.

What you need:
- A relevant Dietetics qualification - eligible for membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia and APD program.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Paediatric Dietitian
- Demonstrated clinical skills in paediatric nutritional assessment and management across a range of caseloads and sites
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team focus and an innovative approach
