We have a unique opportunity for a Digital Engineering Technical Specialist to join our national TEK (Technology, Engineering and Knowledge) division. This position is based in Brisbane, but Melbourne or Sydney can also be considered as a location for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and developing core Digital Engineering systems, common data environments and processes. You will lead and coordinate Digital Engineering (DE) Management activities and be accountable for information management through the core Digital Engineering systems utilised by the broader DE teams.
About the Role

  • Plan and control the delivery of DE systems for precontract and delivery phase projects within the nominated BU's.
  • Establish and implement DE workflows and processes that support tender and project objectives.
  • Promotion of TEK's DE capability and its advantages to both John Holland and its clients.
  • Responsible for the management of project information models for all disciplines.
  • Deliver DE solutions to precontract and delivery phase projects where engaged.
  • Provide support to Interdisciplinary Review, Seeking and resolving issues through close interaction with project team members.
  • Perform DE Management and Coordination activities where required.
  • Assist Group Manager in implementation and execution of the DE strategy including new technologies
  • Act as an authority and provide technical guidance on the application DE systems, workflows and processes.
  • Review and document Digital Engineering system documentation.
  • Manage Digital Engineering system implementation, development and maintenance where engaged to do so.
  • Schedule and facilitate systems training across internal teams and external projects.
  • Meet with designers/stakeholders as required to facilitate DE system processes
  • Develop high value use cases including the documentation of processes, applicability and value proposition to the BU.
  • Participate in a Digital Engineering Community of Practice (COP) including introducing and up-skilling project resources and the adoption of innovation practices
  • Provide strong DE system leadership and advice to precontract and delivery phase projects.
  • Provide training support through coaching and sharing of knowledge.
  • Ensure all appropriate knowledge and technical solutions are communicated to functional and line management, as well as TEK Service Delivery team.
  • Ensure effective and appropriate collaboration and communication approaches are used within JHG to maximise the value offering within the market and unifying TEK message to all external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all operations are compliant with TEK / JHG Policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and behave in a way that is consistent with JHG principles and code of business conduct.
  • Maintain a strong industry presence in Digital Engineering through local, national and international organisations. Advocate JHG capability through industry engagements.
About You:
This role will ideally see you holding a degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Built Environment or Architecture.
You will have:
  • Significant relevant Engineering Consulting or Construction industry experience, with a substantial portion of this having been related to BIM Management on large multi discipline projects.
  • Dedicated common data environment system administration experience, delivering systems to aid in large complex projects
  • Exposure to major multi discipline engineering and construction delivery
  • Exposure to working within the precontracts environment on multiple tenders at once
