Digital Media & Campaigns Officer (EOC)
We are looking an enthusiastic Digital Media & Campaigns Officer with good judgment, creative flair, and a passion for campaigning in the regions.
This is a full-time, non-ongoing position for 12 months (to fill a maternity leave vacancy). You will be part of a small, dynamic team based in either Cairns or Canberra. You will work with the Media Adviser to deliver quality content to support local campaigning opportunities.
The key duties of the position are, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development of a strategic Media and communications plan for the Senator.
- Create and edit online Digital Media content for social Media and digital campaigns.
- Organise and implement media opportunities and local issue.
- Provide the Senator with advice on electorate and local issues that may impact the electorate.
- Other duties as required to support the Member/Senator and the effective operation of the Electorate Office.
The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:
- Highly motivated and able to work proactively, both independently and in a small team.
- High level oral and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated proficiency in online editing tools, including Adobe Suite (Photoshop and Premiere Pro) and Canva.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines, plan, organise and prioritise work under pressure.
- A knowledge of the parliamentary and political systems desirable.
- Experience in office administration, stakeholder engagement and event management.
- Ability to travel within Queensland.
Employment conditions
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020 -2023 which include:
- A commencing salary between $81,666 - $91,990 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills.
- An additional optional allowance of up to $20,493 may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work.
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable.
A probationary period of three months will apply.
