We are currently seeking a part time dedicated Tech Assistant to join our Design and Innovation Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the department's operations by assisting with a wide range of technical tasks and activities.
Prepare lesson materials and assist teachers in the delivery of practical lessons.Collaborate with students on their projects, providing technical guidance and support.Assist teachers in the classroom as necessary to facilitate the learning process.Complete compliance checks on machinery and materials to ensure adherence to safety regulations.Raise purchase orders based on instructions from the Head of Department (HOD).Pick up materials from various stores as needed for departmental projects.Service and repair workshop machinery to ensure optimal functionality.Maintain cleanliness and organisation in workshops to provide a safe and efficient working environment.Ensure the proper maintenance of the dust extraction unit to uphold health and safety standards.Skills and Experience Essential to the role:
Previous experience in a technical role, preferably in an educational or workshop setting.Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.Proficiency in using workshop machinery and tools for servicing and repairs.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding safety standards.Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.The Hills Grammar Difference
