How will I help?
Merchant Pricing Management responsible for the pricing of Group’s Merchant Acquiring portfolio. The position sits within the Pricing and Performance Village that optimise Merchant’s returns to the Group’s Cash and Transactional Banking division.
The primary objective of the role is to develop and execute Merchant pricing strategies to deliver exceptional customer and business outcomes, continue to enhance existing capabilities while we strive to strengthen our risk profile.
Key Deliverables:
- Support the development and implementation of product pricing strategies that balance customer value propositions, market position and financial targets.
- Evaluate the current portfolio pricing strategies against plan and optimise portfolio profitability, process effectiveness, diversification, mix and growth, cost, and risk management.
- Subject matter expert on all Merchant Pricing models including current legacy Excel pricing models. Accountable for scoping, capture of business requirements and delivery execution of all changes to pricing models and processes as they pertain to enhancing the merchant service experience.
- Apply a high-risk management practice, by proactively flagging out potential risks and actively meeting all risk requirements within Westpac group’s risk policy.
- Effective management of Squad Risks, Issues, Dependencies, and contentions in conjunction with Squad Service Owners.
- Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure superior customer service and advocacy through improved process, policy, product & pricing strategies.

What do I need?
- Relevant background in banking and finance, corporate/institutional.
- Exceptional project management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with strong negotiating and influencing skills.
- Ability to understand and re-engineer business processes to lower business risks.
- Advanced Excel, modelling, and analytical skills.
- Self-starter with a drive to learn and develop.
- Understanding of current Merchant Eco system, payment trends and general banking operations preferred.
