The Day Program Direct Support Worker is responsible for the successful delivery of the day program service (Community Participation Program) which promotes and increases a community-inclusive opportunities for people with a disability. This position is required to supervise day participants to deliver quality, flexible and individual day services in response to each participant goals and aspirations.
As a Direct Support Worker you will be working to support the wellbeing of participants by understanding their needs, preferences and interests. The role includes a range of Direct Support services including personal and daily care to people with disabilities to help achieve their personal goals and aspirations, meet their physical, emotional and social needs to ensure a quality life with dignity, respect and social inclusion.

Selection Criteria:
- Knowledge of the complex needs of people with disabilities and strategies to enhance their abilities with genuine commitment to them in a service delivery environment.
- Ability to support residents to develop personal care, health care and hygiene, e.g. eating, dressing, toileting and bathing.
- Computer literacy and administration skills – good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated communication, organisational, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relate well to people we support and their families in delivering high quality outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and/or part of a team to pursuit team goals, sharing information, contributing to resolutions in a respectful manner.
- Knowledge of the NSW Disability Services Act and Disability Standards, Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations and Anti-Discrimination Act.
Qualifications & Education:
- Current C NSW driver’s licence (CANNOT be an international licence)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- COVID Vaccination Certificate
- Certificate III in Disability or Community Services
