Business Development for
Data Services business for Visa’s Seller and Non-traditional clients in Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. This role requires close collaboration with Data Science delivery team within Visa locally and regionally. The Director of
Business Development will manage multiple clients and partners to expand
Data Services business.Core responsibilities will include: * Create a growth strategy for the
Data Services business.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales target and expand customer base.
- Identify, negotiate and close business deals with potential clients.
- Partner with functions across Visa (e.g., Data Science, Regional Centre’s of Excellence, Merchant Sales & Acquiring and Client Services) to collaboratively see opportunities.
- Establish proficiency in Visa Data Services and communicate Visa value propositions for our clients.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the industry trends, market activities and competitors.
- Collaborate with data science SMEs to align solutions with client/ market needs.
- Provide detailed update to the LT on revenue, sales target and client satisfaction.
- Document processes, key findings which can be used for learning and development across the team.
Day -to-day responsibilities will include: * Develop compelling client proposals to meet sales targets including pricing and delivery resource model requirements.
- Meet new and existing clients and partners to pitch data solutions.
- Project manage client engagements including contracting and billing process.
- Prepare project materials including data requirements and frameworks.
- Deliver compelling client presentations to illustrate findings, ideas, recommendations within consulting engagements and more broadly.
- Playback results and success of program to clients, leading to renewed contracts and program extensions.

Data Services team at Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) plays a pivotal role within the Global Data Solutions organization. Comprised of dedicated data scientists, analysts, and engineers, we help major companies through analytic solutions. Our main objective is to build solutions that empower our clients leveraging one of the largest datasets in the world, VisaNet.This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications- Proven experience as a Business Development Director or a similar role in the Data Services industry.
- Proficient in Business Development; selling analytic insights, data solutions, consulting and advisory services.
- Strong commercial competence and ability to construct and critique a solution.
- Ability to create and present client pitch proposals.
- Experienced in leading project delivery with diverse resources, and proficient in drafting work requests for technical team.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and requirements for Data Services.
- Excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Collaborative, diplomatic, great team player and flexible style of working.
- Superb communication, presentation and data storytelling skills.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to progress multiple priorities concurrently.
- Motivated by delivery with a high attention to detail.
- Enjoys working within the Agile framework.
- Experience with visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
- Ability to travel as needed.
