Business Development Manager (BDM) is a critical position within the Innovation and Commercial Research Unit (ICR), supported by the Business and Analytics Specialist and reporting to the Director, Innovation and Commercial Research to develop, negotiate and enable research and commercialisation opportunities across UOW's faculties and entities.The BDM works in partnership with UOW research leaders in faculties and entities to build and promote opportunities, support technology transfer and support specific contractual negotiations and arrangements. The BDM actively seeks to enhance the number of high-value, high-impact industry and partner engagements, focussing on building an understanding of UOW research entities and business strategies. This involves attracting commercial research funding and improving success rates for targeted funding applications. Additionally, the BDM aims to promote long term relationships with industry partners, empowering researchers to pursue strategic research partnerships and enabling the strategic commercialisation of UOW IP.Your previous experience in a commercial research, commercialisation, or product development environment and an ability to build a focussed understanding of research and researchers, combined with your excellent understanding of research and commercialisation contract negotiation combining skills and strengths in project management will be key to your success in this role.
