About the Role
The Director, Cabinet and Parliament Services involves overseeing the management of both the Minister’s and the department’s business in Cabinet and Parliament. This includes tasks such as preparing and coordinating sensitive briefing notes, correspondence, and discussion papers. Additionally, it entails leading, managing, and coordinating the flow of information between the Minister and the department regarding Cabinet and Parliament matters.
Collaboration with senior executives and subject matter experts is essential and processes need to be continuously reviewed and enhanced to ensure that Cabinet and Parliament services meet senior stakeholders' expectations in terms of timeliness, quality, confidentiality, and scope. For this reason, liaison with senior officers is essential to ensure all materials prepared for Cabinet and Parliament activity align with corporate and ministerial requirements.
About you
- You will be an experienced leader, ideally possessing some knowledge of Cabinet, Cabinet Committee and Parliament processes.
- The person successfully appointed to this position will also demonstrate their ability to cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders while providing inspirational leadership to motivate team members to excel in service delivery.
- An ability to interpret legal and technical documents and apply process and precedent to validate decision-making will be the cornerstone to ensuring success.
- Strong cultural alignment to the values espoused by the Department to ensure workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion continue to enhance the existing culture of respect and belonging.
