What You Will Be Doing
The role of the Director Clinical Training (DCT) is an essential component of a Junior Medical Officer's (JMO) prevocational medical education experience. The DCT contributes to the planning, development and implementation of the various components of the hospital's prevocational training program.
- Support and promotion of education & Clinical Training opportunities for prevocational doctors aligned with the new National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training
- Develop a model for provision of a 'protected,' dedicated Education Program for interns/prevocational trainees (PGY1 and PGY2) and other junior medical staff (PGY23+)
- Liaison with and support of Term & other relevant clinical Supervisors
- Direct supervision of prevocational doctors and oversight of supervision by others (including registrars/senior HMOs)
- Monitoring, support and referral of welfare issues of prevocational doctors
We anticipate you will have:
- Be registered with the Medical Board of Australia and not have any imposed restrictions on their practice by AHPRA
- Have a College Fellowship OR significant clinical experience and/or significant
- A commitment to medical education and training

ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2022 - 2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.

Selection Criteria Essential: Are you registered by the Medical Board of Australia and do not have any imposed restrictions on their practice by AHPRA?
Essential: Do you have a College Fellowship OR have significant clinical experience, and significant experience in medical education/teaching, including training as a supervisor that includes education/teaching skills; and significant familiarity with the health service?
Essential: Do you have a commitment to medical education and training?
Desirable: Do you have experience in providing well-being support to junior doctors?
Desirable: Do you have an understanding of the principles of adult education and professional development?
Desirable: Do you have relevant tertiary qualifications in medical education, management and/or health administration (or working towards one or more of these)?
