About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Full Time position for a two year contract, at 76 hours per fortnight within the Emergency Management. You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and performance monitoring of Emergency Management and Business Continuity across the Royal Children's Hospital. The focus of the role is to assist all areas to ensure the core organisational aspects of prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery for emergency and disaster management are documented, evaluated, and continuously improved across RCH. This role is also responsible for establishing, maintaining and co-ordinating the Business Continuity program at RCH.
What you'll achieve:
- Lead and drive the Emergency Management Strategy and key stakeholder relationships in order to gain cooperation, negotiate where necessary and maintain beneficial relationships, both internal and external
- Develop, implement, and maintain an RCH Emergency Management program, following the key principles of Emergency Management and the Australasian Inter-agency Incident Management System (AIIMS)
- Ensure the effectiveness of the RCH Emergency Management governance and the RCH Emergency Management Plan and sub-plans and associated training requirements
- Develop and maintain the RCH Emergency Management improvement register and risk register and develop mitigation strategies to manage risks
- Represent RCH on internal and external emergency committees e.g. Security, WHS, Department of health Vic, precinct partners and chair the Emergency Management Planning Committee and Emergency Management working groups
Your skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in providing high level advice to senior managers on a range of Emergency Management matters
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in Business Continuity, Emergency Management or related fields, preferably in the healthcare industry
- Proven experience in leading organisational emergency preparedness and response, in a large, diverse setting. Including a significant understanding of Business Continuity management
- Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining, and delivering organisational capacity and training programs. Whilst understanding jurisdictional disaster management arrangements and related legislation, policy, procedure, Australian standards, and best practice
