Our mission is to help more people to hear.The OpportunityJoin our dynamic team as the Director, New Product Commercial Strategy at our leading hearing medical device organisation. We are seeking a visionary leader to drive upstream product innovation and shape our technologically advanced portfolio.As the Director New Product Commercial Strategy, you will be integral to the development of our portfolio roadmap, leveraging your expertise in upstream market analysis and strategic portfolio management. Your primary focus will be on synthesizing market insights and customer needs to identify opportunities that align with our company's vision and goals.Reporting to the Director Portfolio Strategy & Planning, this role requires someone with a long-term strategic view of customer product needs (5-10 years) who identifies external market opportunities and changes which may influence decision-making around future product requirements. By assessing these market trends, demographic changes, competitor offerings and emerging trends in hearing healthcare; you will help identify and advise on New Product opportunities leading to future success of customer product needs.Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the advancement of a commercial, customer centric portfolio strategy and roadmap that aligns our technology pipeline with market demand and customer preferences
  • Collaborate with R&D, product management teams and other stakeholders to prioritize and shape the portfolio roadmap and build innovation-to-commercialisation thinking that aligns with Cochlear’s vision
  • Design and implement a user centred product innovation process through which New Product innovations are conceived, designed, developed, and commercialized
  • Analyzing market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscapes to identify white spaces and emerging opportunities
  • Integrating user concept testing and user-centered design principles into product development processes to ensure that our products meet the evolving needs of our customers effectively.
  • Engage and align key internal stakeholders and decision makers in both the process and timely decisions

The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic acumen, business analysis skills and a proven track record of driving innovation and commercial success through portfolio management.About YouTo add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 4 years' experience in strategic marketing or MBA with at least 2 years of related experience in strategic marketing
  • Proven experience in Business Strategy, New Market Development, Product Strategy, Product Innovation, User Centred Design, User Experience Design or Consulting
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing portfolio strategies that drive growth and profitability.
  • Experience in upstream product innovation, business analysis, market and competition analysis in medical devices, health, pharmaceutical industry highly valued
  • Experience in Product Launch, Product Management, Commercialization, Cross-functional Team Leadership highly valued
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, proactive and resourceful with a “can do” attitude
  • Innovative and able to think open, broadly and strategically
  • Strong analytical skills able to draw conclusions from data, management information and trends
  • Enjoys responding quickly and influencing people to deliver
  • Highly organized, focused and committed to achieving goals
