Wonthaggi and District Elderly Citizens Homes was established in 1961 and has grown from an original 9 bed hostel in 1965 to 98 bed residential aged care provider with 14 Independent living Units with provision for future growth.
Now trading as Rose Lodge, we continue to be the leading community owned and run aged care provider in Wonthaggi.
About the Role
To provide leadership and uphold standards of excellence, morale, and quality.
Creates a culture of safety that empowers the:
- clinical
- personal care and
- lifestyle program workforce
to speak up and raise concerns and to work together to seek solutions for resident safety concerns.
Ensure there is effective engagement and partnering with residents in developing, delivering, and evaluating their care and services.
Ensures transparent and open communication occurs with residents about incidents that have caused harm.
Promotes a service culture that supports residents’ health, safety and well-being and is inclusive of their identity, culture, and diversity.
Leads and supports the:
- clinical
- personal care and
- lifestyle program workforce
to consistently deliver safe, quality resident-centred care and services according to the goal and strategic direction set by the governing body.
Develops, implements, monitors and reviews clinical management policies and procedures on a 3 year-cycle and when required to meet legislative and risk management requirements.
Ensures the:
- clinical
- personal care and
- lifestyle workforce
is equipped to achieve their roles by providing role clarity, together with the necessary knowledge, tools, resources and opportunities to participate and influence change.
Develops and supports clinical leaders to actively pursue safe, quality care for every resident.
Ensures accurate, transparent, and timely quantitative and qualitative information is used for decision making when planning and prioritising resources and to monitor and improve clinical outcomes and experiences for residents.
Ensures efficient allocation and utilisation of resources for safe and quality care.
To ensure legal & regulatory compliance
Implements an effective clinical governance framework for the safe and quality systems required to maintain and improve the consistency, safety, and quality of clinical care and to improve outcomes for residents.
The framework includes.
- Assess, plan, and deliver safe and effective care,
- Antimicrobial stewardship,
- Restraint minimisation and
- Open disclosure.
Manages oversight of the areas of key clinical risk and ensures escalation (both internal and external, as relevant) occurs and that appropriate response actions are taken where safety is compromised.
Manages the AN-ACC funding assessments, and submissions for all residents to ensure accurate care subsidy is achieved.
