The Oceania business is a high-growth affiliate with an exciting trajectory and pipeline in new products and therapy areas in the coming years. As part of this continued growth, the business is now undertaking a search to secure a Director of Corporate Communications, an extremely high profile and critically important function within the structure.
About the Position
The Director of Communications is responsible for maintaining and enhancing positive relations with external audiences, including the general public, shareholders, investors, government and healthcare professionals as well as building and protecting the corporate reputation amongst the broader community. In addition, the role will work closely with the Australian GM, other senior leadership team members and the broader global communications teams to foster best practice initiatives and ensure consistency in messaging in market. To achieve this the role will lead a team of two across corporate and product communications and will involve creation of a robust strategic plan as well as hands on delivery to achieve this plan.
The person
This role presents an exceptional opportunity and as such requires a truly unique individual to achieve success. Ideally you will bring a proven track record of delivery in a strategic corporate communications role where you have led internal, external, and corporate communications strategies that have delivered measurable results for your organisation. Leadership capability and the ability to engage, develop and retain staff in a high-performance culture will be critical as will a strength in stakeholder management across a diverse group, both internally and externally. Your written and verbal communication skills will be exemplary as will your commercial acumen and your understanding of how your role contributes to broader business objectives.
You will be degree qualified in a Communications, Journalism, or a related field and will have built your career ideally in an issues rich, regulated environment such as health, financial services, alcohol or tobacco, where you have had a large and diverse audience base. You will also be able to demonstrate your values alignment to the organisation – patient care, science-based product development, impact and sustainability. Most importantly you will be looking for the opportunity to take your skills and expertise and apply them in the most rewarding of environments where your work will add value in an organisation that brings so much to the community.
