The ANZ Delivery Practice has several industry-aligned consulting teams tasked with delivering value across several industry segments including Financial Services, Public Sector, Communications, Media and Utilities. The Industries practice will be dedicated to industry-specific customers and be responsible for implementing high quality solutions and providing assurance services through a combination of broad expertise on the Core platform and Industry Clouds together with a deep knowledge of the industry.
As a Director, Retail, Communications, Media, Energy & Utilities Industries Practice Lead you will be responsible for one of the industry-aligned consulting teams, leading a team of consultants tasked in delivering and assuring high quality, industry-specific solutions to our most complex and ambitious customers and partners across our entire portfolio of Implementation and Assurance Services offerings . The role will be responsible for leading a team of Technical Architects, Solution Architects and Program Architects
As a Director, Retail, Communications, Media, Energy & Utilities Industries Practice Lead , you will be responsible for developing the team's specific knowledge in the industry and associated sub-industries as well as associated Industry Cloud product skills. Working with other industry-aligned Delivery Leads, Project Managers, Transformation Partners, Engagement Managers and Account partners as well as other Professional Services practices to ensure that we architect and deliver the highest quality solutions in all stages of the Services lifecycle. You will also own pre-sales and oversight for standalone Program Architect and Assurance Services engagements and support our Professional Services teams on more complex Professional Services engagements.
This team will deliver strong thought leadership and standard processes industry domain skills and related product knowledge, own and contribute to industry specific initiatives and product offers, drive ongoing industry learning for the team and create baseline industry enablement to support our other consulting teams in delivering to our customers.
This role reports to the Regional Vice President, ANZ Services Leader
YOUR IMPACT: Responsibilities

  • Seasoned people manager - lead a focused team of multi-disciplined consultants and may in the future lead 1 to 2 industry-dedicated consulting managers.
  • Forward-thinking leader responsible for hiring, building and developing outstanding industry-focused teams tasked with creating high quality solutions on customer-facing engagements.
  • Work closely with other Service leaders to ensure that we architect technology solutions to meet client needs in the pre-sales, discovery and delivery phases of implementations.
  • Work closely with Operations, GTM, Presales, Engagement Delivery, Business Services Consulting, Human Change and Emerging Practices to ensure that we have the right mix of technical and functional consultants to deliver the highest quality solution outcomes on our Professional Services engagements
  • Support pre-sales, provide oversight and handle customer issues on standalone Program Architect and Assurance Services platform offers that do not have an accountable Delivery Leader. Support escalations on engagements that do have an accountable leader.
  • Drive industry-specific product, domain and sub-domain skills and expertise development within and across associated Services teams. Ensure that the team has the right skills, at the right time to deliver the best customer outcome.
  • Drive baseline and relevant specialised learning in the Industry team as well as adoption of job architecture, learning paths, reusable assets and frameworks.
  • Drive the attainment of industry-specific credentials or product certifications relevant to the industry.
  • Work closely with associated Global Practices and Competencies Industry teams, Customer Success, Solution Engineering and the Salesforce Industries Services teams on initiatives such as enablement, product offerings and other practice initiatives.
  • Support the Global Delivery Innovation function in creating and harvesting reusable industry-specific assets and frameworks for consistency and repeatability.
  • Identify and lead internal industry-specific critical initiatives to grow the consulting practice; serving as an active contributor to the community’s overall knowledge base and expertise.
  • Create industry-specific internal value stories and work with Services Marketing to create external customer stories to showcase the value of Salesforce Professional Services and its ability to meet industry challenges!
  • Work collaboratively and have very strong communications skills, especially in teaching complex concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking.
  • Be measured on team utilisation, skills and expertise attainment, delivery of meaningful internal initiatives and reusable assets and its associated impact on bookings and margin.
  • Drive Strong Culture to attract, develop, support and retain our people and leaders.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • People manager with demonstrated experience leading and managing Salesforce consultants.
  • Deep functional and business knowledge of industries/verticals Energy & Utilities, Retail, Media & Telecommunications including business capabilities, customer journeys and operations, preferably in the Australian and New Zealand markets
  • Experience supporting pre-sales and oversight of Assurance Services or Implementation Services engagements in an industry-specific context as well as experience supporting Professional Services operations such as aligning staffing to engagements.
  • Ability to engage with C-level and senior-level customers internally and externally and experience managing delivery critical issues.
  • Experience managing large full life-cycle Salesforce Implementations and a strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM) in the context of Salesforce.
