About You
Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role with a combination of Private Sector and Federal Government Experience:
Key skills required for role:
- Property capital projects experience with complex scope.
- Relevant experience in project leadership and management roles.
- Qualification in Project Management
- Deep knowledge of Project Management and Construction management systems and principles.
- Major programs change and rollout.
The Director Property Capital Works is an important team leadership position and will have delegated authority and responsibility. The role is required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team membership and assigned Contractors working within the work area.
Where required, it will represent and negotiate on behalf of this Federal Government Body to advance their interests in cross-agency, inter-jurisdictional and other forums.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading and managing detailed and sensitive property projects.
- Managing end-to-end construction project management including, planning, design, approvals, procurement, delivery and handover.
- Writing business cases, plans, executive briefs, project reports, status updates and exception reports.
- Developing research and analysis, including the preparation of draft reports on project activities.
- Managing the project budgets, reviewing and reporting on expenditure.
- Identifying and managing program governance including the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Establishing and managing procurement and contracts for the delivery of the programme and monitor contractor performance.
- Leading and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and encourage high performance and collaborative behaviours.
- Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
- Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check and completion of the Agency’s screening and organisational suitability checks.
