The JACS DLOs, under direction from the Ministerial Services Unit’s Senior Director, are responsible for the coordination of information and workflow between the directorate, its executives and its ministerial offices.
There are currently four JACS DLOs:
- one supporting the Attorney-General, Gaming and Consumer Affairs portfolios.
- one supporting the Fire and Emergency Services and Police and Crime Prevention portfolios.
- one supporting the Human Rights, Government Services and Regulatory Reform and Special Minister of State portfolios, and
- one supporting the Corrections and Justice Health portfolio.
The advertised position is to support the Minister for Corrections and Justice Health, and will act as a central point of contact between JACS (incl. ACT Corrective Services), the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development Directorate’s Cabinet Office and Government Business and Coordination teams, other directorates and the Minister’s office on Correctional, Cabinet and Assembly business.
The successful applicant will bring to the role a solid understanding of government processes, leadership in building and maintaining effective relationships, a responsive approach to tight deadlines, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a high level of organisation skills. An understanding of, or experience within, the management and operations of a correctional system is desirable.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:
1. An understanding of, or experience within, the management and operations of a correctional system is desirable.
2. An understanding of Cabinet, ministerial, ACT Legislative Assembly and
machinery-of- government processes is desirable.
3. Experience in the high-level operation of Content Manager is desirable.
4. This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
Note: This is a temporary position available 15 May 2024 for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to months. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
