SalarySharp and Carter are representing a local authority in SEQ that are looking for an experienced Director/Senior Manager/Head of Applications within their Application Services Division.

Sharp and Carter are working in partnership with a South East Queensland Local Government Authority Technology division to secure the services of a talented Application leader.
The technology division supports and enables this organisations day to day activities and services through efficient, flexible and innovative Technology solutions.
The Role
The chosen candidate will lead various domains and innovative technologies, working closely with a diverse team of ICT professionals, including business analysts, change managers, systems analysts, enterprise architects, and network analysts. This role, which involves direct interaction with internal customers, requires full accountability for the comprehensive development and support of service and application portfolios.
Your role involves close collaboration with essential operational business stakeholders to supervise programs and strategically align efforts with broader business objectives. This position demands strong change management and leadership skills, as you guide the Application Services team in an environment that is constantly evolving, ensuring the ongoing delivery of high-quality routine business services.
In relation to specific deliverables for your role you will:
- Take control of the Application Services team, creating and executing appropriate service catalogues, SLA performance frameworks, and reporting structures, along with resource and cost models.
- Direct the delivery, support, and maintenance of comprehensive end-to-end Application Services in a vast, diverse, and intricate environment. This involves pinpointing relevant demand drivers and the necessary operational resourcing (financial, personnel, and system) requirements.
- Supervise the provision of information and records management services to both critical and non-critical business areas, ensuring alignment with policies and standards throughout the information lifecycle.
- Foster an agile way of working and instil a mindset across teams that prioritises customer value, transparency, and empowerment.
To succeed in this role, you will operate at Director/Senior Manager/Head of Application level with outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and a background working in large complex environments.
This role will involve high levels of collaboration and engagement, individuals that can demonstrate high levels of influencing and stakeholder engagement will be well suited to this position. In addition, Individuals that have a background in Software Technology with a Project mindset will also be highly regarded.
As the Director/Senior Manager/Head of Application, you will be responsible for driving excellence in employee experience, providing responsive support services, delivering robust change control and management services and demonstrating strong leadership capabilities in line with our clients plan.
The ideal candidate will have the following key knowledge, experience, and qualifications:
- Enterprise Resource Planning covering the core processes and functions
- Working knowledge of Service Management (ITIL) processes and their pragmatic use
- Agile ways of working and LEAN
- Undergraduate or post graduate qualification in a business or related field, or relevant experience.
