Position Overview:
We seek enthusiastic and reliable Disability Support Workers who share our values and beliefs. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities within the Redland City, Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Logan areas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Promoting and developing independent living skills
- Managing challenging behaviours
- Assisting with personal care
- Providing support to access the local community
- Managing individual and household finances
- Meal preparation, domestic duties, and medication administration
- Supporting good health
- Communicating with team members, family members, allied health services, and other support services
Key Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Availability to work several days a week, including some weekend shifts.
- Flexibility to cover multiple shifts, including daytime, late/evening, early morning, and occasional sleepovers.
- Willingness to use your own reliable, fully insured vehicle.
- Previous experience working within the disability or community services industry is essential.
- Qualifications in Disability, Community Services, Youth Work, or Aged Care are highly regarded. However, candidates willing to work towards a qualification within the first 12 months of employment will also be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting participants with challenging behaviours. (Desirable but not essential)
- 1+ years of experience as a Support Worker providing core support services, including personal care.
- Blue Card & NDIS Worker Check or a willingness to obtain them.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or a willingness to obtain it.
- Current QLD Driver's License.
- Roadworthy and fully Insured Vehicle and a willingness to use your own vehicle to transport participants.
