Home Support Association (HSA) are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our team. We have positions available in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and 1:1 supports. What does this mean for you?
As a 1:1 Support Worker, you can expect to work with a range of different Service Users in a range of different contexts. It might be supporting someone to go into the community to complete tasks such as shopping, banking or attending appointments, or going into their home to assist with daily living tasks.
Our SIL teams operate on a six-week rotational roster consisting of day, sleepover, and weekend shifts so availability to work these shifts is a must. We have multiple positions available with options to remain casual and provide backfill across multiple SILs or join a core team and convert to part-time within eight weeks from commencement.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will have a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for people with a disability to enable them to lead an inclusive life in their community.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:
- Passion for supporting the rights of people with a disability and working collaboratively with mutual trust and respect
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability and willingness to work with complex and challenging behaviours
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and ability to complete SIL shift documentation
What you need:
- Full availability or ability to work a rotating six-week roster – if interested in SIL
- A current Blue Card or ability to apply
- A current Yellow Card or ability to apply
- Current driver’s licence and own registered vehicle and comprehensive insurance
- Smart phone/tablet with internet access
- First Aid & CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Experience or genuine interest in the disability services industry
- Sound communication and written skills
- Highly desirable - COVID-19 Vaccination
- Highly desirable - Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
