About you
Allcare are looking for experienced Support Workers who will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred service delivery to our NDIS participants.
This includes supporting their individual goals, improving their social inclusion, and achieving a higher level of independence through ongoing capacity building assistance.
Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Prior experience working with participants with mental health and various needs
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Certificate III in Individual Support
- Unrestricted Driving Licence (must have vehicle and licence to drive)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- National Police Check
- Possess a smartphone device to use online rostering and information system
- A positive, reliable, empathetic approach to support people of all ages and backgrounds living with a disability
- Demonstrated, proven experience working with individuals who may have complex support needs in different environments
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Friendly and engaging manner
- Initiative and self-motivation
- Flexibility and availability are essential in this role, with the ability to work a variety of shifts
Role Activities
- Assist participants to access their local community and attend appointments as required.
- Assist participants to complete their personal/self-care routine and activities.
- Provide capacity building assistance (e.g. travel training/financial management) – where applicable.
- Support their independence through guidance of decision making.
- Monitor client’s behaviour and oversee the implementation of their activities.
- Maintain a high standard of incident reports, including submission of daily progress notes.
- Support clients needs through clear communication and interpersonal abilities.
Desirable Role Requirements
- Certificate IV in Disability desirable or willingness to obtain
