The Role:
We are seeking 2 x experienced Support Workers to assist our male partcipant in Casino, NSW.
The Participant:
Our participant is a 58-year-old male who has a spinal cord injury.
Due the complexity of the participant, he requires the following care:
- Bowel Therapy - Enemas and Digital Stimulation
- Hoisting and Manual Handling
- Catheter Care
- Support with redirecting behaviours
Our participant requires 2:1 care with the current roster and available shifts below:
Monday - Sunday
AM shift: 7am - 9am/10am (2:1 assist)
Pay rates are:
- Day Shift - $40 p/h
- Afternoon Shift - $44 p/hr
- Saturday Shift - $66 p/hr
- Sunday Shift - $72 p/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Bowel Therapy: Enemas and digital stimulation
- Hoisting / Transfers
- Catheter Care
- Support with redirecting behaviours
- Daily skin checks
- Personal care; washing, drying, dressing, grooming
- Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning, meal preparation & feeding
- Assistance with daily health & rehab exercises
- Community access + rehab appointments
Skills & Experiences: *Training Provided
- Experience with spinal cord injuries or other high complex care participants
- Experience with catheter management
- Bowel therapy
- Hoist / transfers
- Pressure injuries
- Diabetes experience
- Redirecting behaviours
- Australian Driver License
- Current National Police Clearance
- Current Working with Children's Check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- A proactive and positive attitude is very important to the participant
