About the Business:
At Living Communities our primary objective is to provide Disability Support services to members of diverse communities, in particular the LGBTQIA+ communities, who identify as having a disability and/or require support services.
We are looking for a individual who has a minimum of 2 years experience working with teenagers who have Autism with behavioural concerns. This is a Full-time, Part-time or Casual Position in the Greater Brisbane area for immediate start.
The Right Candidate would also be considered to take on a Key Worker role, which provides more individualised supports for participant's within the service.
About the Role:
- Provide support to NDIS participants with Physical and/or intellectual disabilities
- Understand and provide the appropriate care to participants with both high and low needs who demonstrate a range of differing behaviours
- Assisting with activities relating to daily living tasks, community access, and supporting independent living
- Work under the general guidance from the participant seeking support, and their family, within clearly defined guidelines
- Understanding of psychosocial disability and ways in assisting participants with their independence.
Someone who has an understanding of supporting participants on the NDIS to maintain their independence, choice and control.
To be successful in the role, your skills, knowledge, and experience will include:
- Cert IV Individual Care / Disability
- Current First Aid/CPR Certification or willingness to obtain
- An open Australian Drivers Licence is a requirement
- Possess a current Blue Card and Workers Screening is a requirement
- Experience with Youth Support, teenagers with Autism and behavioural concerns.
