Access theAn exciting opportunity exists for a Disaster Management Officer part of the Disaster Management Team, who is responsible for supporting the delivery of organisational Disaster Management services across all facilities within the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Services (SCHHS).The Disaster Management Officer works with internal clinical and business areas to prepare, prevent, respond and recover from major incidents including fireSunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.The SCHHS is a values-based organisation. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development, coordination and delivery of evidence-based education, training and exercises to SCHHS staff and partners to build operational capability and readiness for health disasters and emergencies with a specific focus on fire safety.
- Provide expert advice and direction regarding fire safety legislation and standards, and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS), to ensure compliance and successful accreditation of the SCHHS.
- Support SCHHS Disaster Management arrangements by utilising and implementing strategies which ensure prevention, preparedness, response and recovery management activities are aligned to relevant organisational, local, state and federal government policy.
