The Position
The key responsibilities of the Outbound Team Leader is to ensure that all daily orders are dispatched in a timely manner, whilst leading a small team of 4 - 6 people.
The team are responsible for picking, unpacking and consigning freight on differing carriers at different times throughout the day.
This role is a full time, (38 hours per week) primarily Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:00pm or 9:00am - 5:00pm.
The successful candidate would need to be able to communicate clearly with internal teams including the Customer Order Management Team to ensure customer orders are accurate and dispatched on time. In addition to this from time to time, you may be assigned other duties as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
Skills and Knowledge
- Ability to lead a small team
- Good computer literacy with an understanding of warehouse systems. (Navision knowledge an advantage)
- Demonstrated ability using freight management systems
- LF Forklift License (High Reach)
- Current First Aid Certificate (Highly regarded)
- Understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- Attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
- A can-do attitude with a reliable work ethic
- Ability to problem solve under pressure
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Team Leader in a warehouse environment. Previous RF scanning experience would be highly regarded.
- Experience working in the automotive industry and willing to serve on a EHS committee would be advantageous.
