Our client, a leading national supplier of automotive equipment, are looking for an experienced and dynamic Distribution Manager to lead their bustling warehouse operations in Launceston. As the Distribution Manager you will be responsible for the overall management of all areas of the warehouse, delivering seamless logistical operations to ensure effective receiving, order processing, dispatch, stock management and transport management. You will also be responsible for compliance with safety regulations as well as providing leadership and professional development for the warehouse team.

About the role
As the Distribution Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
- Implement and enforce all OH&S regulations, including compliance to Chain of Responsibility laws.
- Oversee the flow of products through the warehouse - from receival all the way through to dispatch, ensuring all stock movements are accurately processed in a timely manner.
- Coordinate warehouse team members - from working hours to allocation of duties and workforce planning whilst fostering engagement and performance within the warehouse team.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained in safe working order.
- Negotiate pricing and delivery service with external providers to ensure the best outcome for customers and business.
- Manage warehouse budget and expenses.
- Proactively handle WHS&E reporting and incidents.
- Conduct regular stock management activities including cycle counts and stocktakes.
- Drive warehouse and distribution efficiency projects.
- Ensure professional and efficient communication with employees, customers, and suppliers.
To be successful, you will possess the following:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of logistics and warehouse management essential.
- Hold a relevant qualification in business, logistics or supply chain management essential.
- Possess a current and valid LF forklift truck licence essential.
- Workplace Health & Safety training / certification essential.
- Chain of Responsibility (CoR) qualifications highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong business acumen with outstanding negotiation skills.
