We are seeking a dedicated Diverse Learning Teacher to join the team at an independent all boys school in North-West Sydney for a full-time, temporary position starting in Term 1, 2024. Purpose of the Role:

As a Diverse Learning Teacher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every student has equal access to quality education. Your primary focus will be to provide tailored support and resources to students with Diverse Learning requirements, ensuring they thrive academically and personally.

Responsibilities:

• Individualized Support: Develop and implement personalized learning plans for students with Diverse Learning needs, including those with disabilities and special educational requirements.

• Collaborative Approach: Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and external specialists to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the unique needs of each student.

• Differentiated Instruction: Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate Diverse Learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can access the curriculum effectively.

• Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress, identify areas for growth, and provide ongoing feedback to support their academic and social-emotional development. Assisting with collecting and collating the evidence required to include students in the NCCD.

• Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in Diverse Learning and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and expertise. Have an understanding of current theory and practices in relation to Special Education

To be successful you will have:

• Experience in learning support in secondary school
• The ability to work collaboratively with peers and leadership
• Formal qualifications in Special Education would be highly desirable

The Diverse Learning Teacher position may carry a teaching load. Therefore you will have attained:

• Tertiary qualification in Education
• Active accreditation with NSW Standards Authority (NESA)
