About the role
Austin Health is committed to attracting, developing, and retaining a highly capable and engaged workforce. Championing the Diversity and Inclusion workforce agenda, areas of focus include; designing and leading events, delivering a range of organisational wide initiatives and supporting policy development to advance the benefits of workforce Diversity and Inclusion. Key initiatives include the overarching Diversity & Inclusion Plan, Gender Equality Action Plan, Aboriginal Employment Plan, as well as contributing to other projects and plans, such as our Reconciliation Action Plan.
A regular day will see you:
- Engage with stakeholder groups across the organisation to progress and deliver actions outlined in our key plans
- Actively lead and oversee the implementation of our plans
- Lead Austin Health’s recognition of significant cultural events that celebrate and acknowledge the diversity of our workforce
- Provide relevant Diversity and Inclusion training and tools to both enhance employee awareness and understanding, and also build capability in relation to inclusion issues
- Work closely with leaders to drive the Diversity and Inclusion agenda across Austin Health
- Collaborate internally on Diversity and Inclusion matters that also relate to the patient interface
About you
You will be an experienced and motivated individual, who will play a pivotal role in driving our commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture. You will be influential in leading strategic initiatives, collaborating across departments, and championing efforts that promote diversity, foster inclusion, and ensure equity across our diverse workforce.
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:
- Experience in leading workforce Diversity and Inclusion in a large, complex organisation
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels of an organisation
- Experience in the implementation of workforce Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and plans
- Understanding of the relevant legislative frameworks
- Experience in policy development and implementation
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify key insights and present these in reports and presentations for senior management
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on delivering results
- Ideally some experience in the health sector
