About the role
We are looking for a Document Automation Specialist to join our General Counsel and Risk team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a hybrid role which can sit in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.
Working with our lawyers and the Knowledge team, you will use your automation skills and knowledge of legal process to design, develop and maintain automated document templates. You will be a key part of our broader automation program to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of our legal practices.
- Leverage low code Document Automation tools to create dynamic and interactive documents that can be customised based on lawyer and client needs.
- Analyse documents and processes to understand the logic and apply the optimal solution.
- Provide technical support in relation to Document Automation, document templates and resolving issues.
- Style documents consistent with Dentons style guide.
- Troubleshoot issues or errors and ensure the quality and performance of the automated documents.
- Coordinate and conduct testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the automation.
- Work with our legal practices to proactively improve document efficiency and productivity in line with Dentons strategy.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs with supporting user guides for our lawyers and other stakeholders and drive the adoption of Document Automation.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in Document Automation and related technologies.

You are looking for a friendly, collaborative and professional team to work closely with and are a strong problem solver. Here are some of the skills that we are looking for:
- Experience with Document Automation Systems - this is mandatory
- Advanced Microsoft Word skills including the use of templates and styles
- Advanced VBA skills
- Previous experience in a legal or professional services environment
- Experience using Document Management Systems (iManage Work 10)
- Experience working with integrations such as Outlook and DocuSign (desirable)
- Experience working with SharePoint and MS 365 suite (desirable)
- Good understanding of workflow
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to using new applications
- Strong all-round technical ability
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams
