Puppy Playground is a large dog day care facility in Zetland which has a busy grooming salon and runs puppy school classes and care for around 250 dogs in day care weekly.
About the role
We are looking for a mature minded, reliable dog trainer to run our puppy school and assist in the smooth running of the day care on a day-to-day basis. It is essential that you can demonstrate attention to detail, customer service and giving instructions.
The successful candidate must have experience in running puppy school classes and dog training.
Duties include:
- Training Puppy School
- Grooming
- Daycare attendant
- Taking new booking
- Customer service and payments,
- Walking dogs in small groups on lead
- Managing customer files and booking system
- Cleaning and up keep of the day care
- Social Media
The job requires you to work in a fast paced environment where you need to be able to shuffle priorities, be adaptable and keep calm. Working with dogs is mentally and physically demanding so you will need to be able to keep up with the pace.
About your Experience
- Previously experience in a dog day care
- 2 years of experience in running puppy school classes
- Be a ‘people person’ with a passion for animals
- Have excellent dog handling skills from 1kg to 60KG and breed knowledge.
- Have a positive, can-do attitude.
- Qualifications and experience in dog training or grooming are preferred
Flexibility is needed to start, with shifts any time between 7am and 6:30pm Monday – Friday for day care. Puppy School hours will be in the evening and on weekends.
