We’re at the centre of huge and important environmental, economic and societal change that will ensure a more sustainable future – for the Dubbo region, New South Wales, and beyond. It doesn’t get much bigger than that.

The Development Contributions Planner is responsible for the operational maintenance and function of Council’s infrastructure contributions framework in accordance with legislative requirements and current best practice. You are also responsible for providing effective and efficient liaison with internal and external customers to ensure the infrastructure contributions framework is understood in a transparent manner.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Project managing the preparation and review of Council’s Infrastructure Contributions Plans in consultation with the Team Leader Growth Planning Projects
  • Maintaining Council’s Infrastructure Contributions Register and Planning Agreements Register, including tracking of developer contributions and capital works
  • Participating in the negotiation and preparation of Planning Agreements and Works-In-Kind Agreements in accordance with legislative requirements, Council Policies and the needs of the community
  • Providing advice to internal and external customers on the content, provisions and management of Council’s Infrastructure Contributions Framework and its relationship with the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979
  • Proactively communicating, educating and engaging with developers, builders, consultants, the real estate industry and the wider community with the objective of facilitating the continuing sustainable development of the Region

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

You are professional, motivated and proactive, with a passion for contributing to sustainable development. You have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You have a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You bring integrity and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality. You are a team player who continually looks for positive ways to contribute to team culture.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma in Planning, Accounting or a related discipline, or relevant experience commensurate to the qualification.
  • Understanding of legislation and systems guiding infrastructure contributions planning
  • Understanding and experience in the negotiation and preparation of Planning Agreements and Works-In-Kind Agreements
