This position is based in the remote Aboriginal community, Aurukun in Far North QLD.
About the Location Aurukun is a remote Indigenous community of around 1,250 people and is 800 kilometres northwest of Cairns. The closest major town is Weipa – a 15-minute flight or 2.5-hour drive north.
Aurukun has a bank, post office, library, community centre, police station, SES, PCYC, sporting fields and splash park. There is also a health clinic, op shop, restaurant, cafe, art gallery, fuel outlet & community centre boat ramp.
Living in Aurukun, you’ll have one of the best playgrounds for camping, fishing and adventure right on your new doorstep.
