BADAC is facilitating a program of providing Early Childhood Education and Care Services in response to the needs of our community.
The Yaluk Burron (meaning ‘River Children') Early Learning Centre will provide a culturally safe and rich learning environment where families and the community are collaborators in each child’s learning journey from birth through to school engagement. Yaluk Burron will combat and support the barriers and factors that impact upon Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families’ participation in early year’s education. This program initiates the instilling of Aboriginal culture and history on the journey from birth to elder aligning to BADAC’s holistic principle.
The Opportunity - BRAND NEW CENTRE.We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Certificate III Assistant Educator who takes pride in planning creative and innovative programs for children. This role is on a Full Time basis located at our BRAND NEW CENTRE in the heart of Ballan, Yaluk Burron.
The OpportunityWe are looking to appoint qualified passionate educators who will work in collaboration with colleagues to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for children and families. We believe the primary objective of an Early Childhood Educator is to work cooperatively within a team in providing quality Early Childhood Education and Care for our diverse local community whilst ensuring that the policies, procedures and values of our Early Learning Centres.
As an Early Childhood Educator you will be responsible to plan, organise and implement the Early Years Learning Framework via a dynamic educational program that builds on children’s knowledge and extend their learning opportunities, while supporting children’s preparedness for the transition to Kindergarten.

- Assist in planning and implementation of educational programs consistent with the national Early Years Learning Framework and the diverse needs of children attending the centre and their families.
- Ensure a welcoming and positive learning environment for all children and their diverse needs, including children with additional needs.
- Develop networks and relationships with local community contacts and other service providers.
- Contribute to the positive marketing of the centre.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment for children, visitors and staff in the workplace.
- Develop effective communication through positive partnerships with families at the centre.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and the ability to communicate with Aboriginal Children and their families.
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent as approved by ACECQA).
- Experience working within an Early Childhood education setting is preferred.
- Current First Aid – Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting or equivalent HLTAID004.
- Pass a satisfactory criminal history record check and hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the National Education & Care Services Law and Regulations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the VEYLDF & NQS.
- Willingness to undertake training in the 8AWOL and implement into professional practice.
- Demonstrated high level of written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise tasks and meet required timeframes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and co-operatively in a team environment.
BADAC is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in accordance with our safeguarding Children and Young People framework. BADAC requires that all applicants undergo satisfactory screening prior to commencement, including but not limited to:
- a national criminal history check;
- an international criminal history check where applicants have worked overseas;
- holding or obtaining a Working with Children’s Check Card/ VIT Card
- At least two professional reference checks.
