Lady Gowrie is seeking Early Childhood Teachers for our Bowen Road, Campbell Street & Acton Long Day Care Services. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 12 years of age.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Early Childhood Teacher you will work closely with our Education and Care Practitioners demonstrating and mentoring in pedagogy and practice and work in ratio.
Our Bowen Road Education and Care Service has around 63 children between birth to five years of age each day, with up to 15 Education and Care Practitioners each day. This location is only a 5-minute drive to shops, cafes & restaurants.
Campbell Street Education and Care Service has 90 – 94 children across 5 rooms each day and up to 20 Education and Care Practitioners across 5 rooms. This location is a short walk from cafes and restaurants in North Hobart for lunch breaks and is close to public transport.
Our Acton Education and Care Service has up to 78 children per day between birth to five years across 4 rooms and up to 15 Education and Care Practitioners each day. This site has free on-site parking for staff and is in a purpose-built new building with a beautiful outdoor space which includes a “paddock” room used for nature play based learning.
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will:
Work closely with our educators and develop programs tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Ensure compliance as a mandated reporter in accordance with the services Child Protection policy and procedures.
Identifying and responding to children at risk
Promote positive, comforting, and nurturing relationships with children.
Be proactive in ensuring currency in best Early Childhood practice.
Providing experiences to support children’s play and learning.
Listening to children, including interpreting words and actions to determine a child's individual needs.
Using storytelling, drama, music and discussion to develop language and vocabulary.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood education (ACECQA approved)
A sound understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework
Ability to lead and work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
Accredited Child Protection Training
Current anaphylaxis and emergency asthma management training.
Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration for an Employee (Child Related Activity)
A recent Police Check
