As an Economic Development Officer, you contribute to the State Development team by supporting responsible Economic Development and building livable communities. You will assist to connect industry, businesses, community, and government at all levels to create place-based solutions that leverage regional strengths and unlock sustainable growth. Your responsibilities
  • Assist in the promotion of regional opportunities, initiatives, and departmental service offerings to promote regional economic growth and supply chain development.
  • Undertake research and analysis to assist progression of projects and strategic priorities.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of industry initiatives, workshops and industry events.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and other government agencies to support the delivery of regional outcomes.
  • Provide input into and support the collation of accurate and timely reports, briefings, submissions and other documentation that may be required.
  • Identify opportunities and contribute positively to team activities. Access data and research new ideas and opportunities that will facilitate industry initiatives, and supply chain development.
  • Perform other activities as required by the Regional Director or Manager.
Your teamWe want you to be a part of a team that is making a difference by leading industry development and regional programs, aligned to the Departments' strategic plan. This includes initiatives that develop and promote the international competitiveness and capability of Queensland's defence, aerospace, space, superyachts, hydrogen, biofutures, biomedical, mining equipment, technology and services, and resource recovery industries. You will be learning new stuff every day! The State Development regional teams across Queensland coordinate the delivery of initiatives such as departmental programs and workshops, to link industry and regional business and grow regional supply chains and productivity. The regional teams engage with regional stakeholders and works with regional Economic Development partners to support and advocate for the strategic delivery of regional economic priorities. They lead place-based developments and economic and industry strategies.
