We are seeking to appoint a casual Educator (Children’s Services Employee) at St Mary Mackillop Outside School Hours Care in Birkdale. We provide before school care, after school care and vacation care to up to 90 children.
We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic educators who are passionate about supporting primary school aged children to grow and develop and are committed to seeing them learn and have fun in a happy and safe environment.
Hours: Casual (varied)
Remuneration: $24.13 to $30.07 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, as per the Children’s Services Modern Award 2010.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the children to create fun recreational and educational experiences that support their well-being.
- Provide children with a safe, secure, welcoming and nurturing environment.
- Work collaboratively within an established team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
- Participate in professional and personal development.
- Promote the service within the local community in accordance with Catholic Early EdCare’s expectations and educational philosophy.
- Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- A passion for the education and care of school aged children in a play-based environment
- Effective workplace communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the child care industry practices including legislative requirements and quality frameworks (Highly Desirable)
- An ACECQA approved school age qualification. A range of study areas may be recognised including: behavioural science, community services, creative arts, education, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, sports and recreation, and human welfare studies (Highly Desirable)
