Status: Full Time Permanent
Salary: $94,142 - $100,867 p.a. + 11% superannuation contribution

About Us
Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.
About the Opportunity
As Educator - Health Workers you will develop, facilitate and deliver skills-based training, to build the capability of staff to effectively deliver comprehensive quality primary health care service to achieve organisational objectives.
The position involves planning, implementing, and reviewing learning and development processes and initiatives, including programs to support workforce development.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or higher qualification relevant to clinical practice in a primary health care setting
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable
- Experience in a similar position developing, delivering and evaluating training and education programs, ideally with a focus on primary health care
- Experience in developing training plans for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Experience facilitating training needs analyses and developing appropriate strategies to address key skill gaps
- Experience engaging employees participating in training and education and knowledge of adult learning styles
- Experience using a Learning Management System such as ELMO
- Strong problem solving skills including the ability to identify and implement training solutions to achieve desired outcomes
- Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
- Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Queensland Driver's Licence
