Hudson has partnered with a high-profile government department seeking to engage an EL 1 Contracts Manager with experience in providing specialist procurement and contract advice to senior stakeholders, including policy exemptions, contract variations, renewal and extension strategies.
If you have a minimum two years of experience in a similar role, are based in Canberra and have a baseline clearance, then this may be the role for you.
Duties:
- Develop procurement documentation, including contract management plans.
- Advise on and ensure compliance with government and agency procurement and contract management policies (e.g., ensuring that suppliers adhere and meet security requirements).
- Use procurement systems to maintain accurate contract records inclusive of contract spend, contractor performance, risk and outcomes.
- Monitor and report on contract performance against KPIs and requirements, identifying and undertaking corrective action as required.
- Undertake market research and apply findings to manage and inform contract decisions.
- Validate contract milestones, reports, and ensure that payment schedules are met.
- Assess and prepare contract variations and exemption requests as required, making appropriate decisions based on risk.
- Prepare for and facilitate straightforward contract negotiations.
- Interpret contract requirements, terms and conditions and ensure that all parties understand and deliver on their responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and customers.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve routine contractual issues and escalate more complex issues.
- Review and evaluate expiring contracts and use the results to shape future procurement strategy.
- Apply and advise on processes for exercising extension options, contract expiry and transition management.
- Comply with and apply government and agency disposal procedures.
