Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The Procurement branch has a new opportunity for an EL1 Procurement and Contracts, to play an integral role in a team responsible for partnering with business areas to procure goods and services for the Agency. The team focuses on applying the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and NDIA policy to ensure value for money outcomes
Where you can add value
The EL1 Procurement and Contracts will play a critical role in ensuring NDIA corporate contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money outcomes. They will work collaboratively with NDIA business areas as a procurement business partner, and managing a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts. Additional responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Leading an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
Ensuring NDIA procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the NDIA Procurement Policy.
Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs), the NDIA Procurement Framework, and Agency policies and procedures.
Managing regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement in order to benefit the business clients and improving procurement business partnership

While this role is ideally performed from ACT - Deakin, VIC - Geelong, or QLD - Brisbane, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
